Dance Classes (Ages 2-18)
Tiny Dancers (Ages 2-3)
In this class, your tiny dancer will learn their very first dance steps through developmentally designed pretend play. Basic dance terminology, class etiquette, and basic body placement will be the focus while intertwining creative exploration throughout the class.
Dance FUNdamentals (Ages 4-5)
This class will focus on establishing correct alignment and muscle memory, providing your dancer with the necessary building blocks that make up the foundation of dance technique. This class incorporates a variety of dance styles that will set your dancer up with the proper tools to ensure safe and controlled execution of their future dance skills, all while having fun!
Ballet (Ages 6-18)
As the origin of dance technique, ballet classes will teach the terminology and vocabulary that tie into all other dance forms. Ballet classes include exercises at the barre, in the center, and across the floor, all of which focus on correct body alignment and positioning in order to develop balance, strength, and flexibility. Ballet is elegant and fluid in nature and requires diligent training to achieve proper execution.
Jazz (Ages 6-18)
Jazz dance focuses primarily on musicality, style, and precision. Its high energy nature increases a dancer's dynamic range and technique in leaps, turns, and kicks. Tap- Tap is a dance form that emphasizes rhythm, performed with specific shoes made to create different sounds. Tap has a rich historical background in the theater and film industry and helps dancers to refine speed, improve coordination, and heighten musical awareness. Hip Hop- Hip Hop incorporates musicality, athleticism, isolation, and attitude. Its origin comes from street dance, dance battles, and freestyle, and the dance studio culture has commercialized it to incorporate more choreography, which tends to be what is shown more in the media. This class will explore the many microstyles that fall under the large umbrella of hip hop.
Contemporary (Ages 6-18)
Contemporary incorporates a combination of multiple techniques with an underlay of storytelling. Ballet and Jazz technique, in particular, provide the foundation to this dance style while the movement quality is heavily guided by the music.
Hip Hop
Hip Hop incorporates musicality, athleticism, isolation, and attitude. Acro/Tumbling (Ages 6-18)
Acro increases body awareness, back flexibility, overall strength, and coordination needed to execute complex skills like handstands, cartwheels, walkovers, ariels, handsprings, tucks, and more. These skills will elevate a dancers technical ability and overall dance experience. This class will cater to each individual at their own level.
Tap (Ages 6-18)
Tap is a dance form that emphasizes rhythm, performed with specific shoes made to create different sounds. Tap has a rich historical background in the theater and film industry and helps dancers to refine speed, improve coordination, and heighten musical awareness.
Levels
Intermediate: At least 2 years of formal dance training.
Intermediate/Advanced: At least 3 years of formal dance training.
